We eat first of all with our eyes, and no one knows that better than the team at Cocoa Atelier.

Step in the door of the Drury Street shop, and your eyes feast first, for the shop is as perfect as the chocolates, and the chocolates are pretty perfect. Clementine, the manager at Cocoa Atelier, explained it this way: “It is all about creating that unique boutique experience. You can compare to it a lovely wrapping around your treats, which makes them taste so much better.”

Now, we know in our scientific mind that the wrapping actually doesn't make the treats taste better. But, much more importantly, we also know, in our sensual mind, that the wrapping, the colour, the exuberance, the artisanship, the treatness of the treat, is all important to the enjoyment of chocolates. So, Cocoa Atelier could be called The Sensual  World, and no one would disagree. “One of the great Dublin treats” was how we described CA in The Irish Food Guide, and it is just that – a treat for all the senses. And then you bite into that macaroon, you take a small piece of opera gateau, you get the scent of the blackberry ganache infused with blackberry tea and BOOM! The sensual world.
