The Draft House
There is an exuberance, a wild energy, about The Draft House that means it is the perfect place to match the exuberance and wild energy of beautiful Strandhill. The great thing is that this energy finds its way into everything in the Draft House. It’s in the manic and witty design style, of course, but it’s also there in the energy of the food, and the determination of the kitchen to produce creative, singular and delicious cooking, right from their 12 hours slow roasted free-range pork belly with seared scallops, creamed mash with a delightful apple and radish salad, to the elegance and imagination of ratatouille stuffed aubergine with blue cheese arancini. And this energy finds its way into thoughtful things, the things that they do differently, like the fact that they have showers for surfer dudes, and kennels for your puppy, and feature the work of local artists and craftspeople, and have cool music sessions. Daniel McGarrigle and his team have boundless ambition, and here is a great gastro enterprise for the Wild Atlantic Way.
