John R's

All the best places to eat, shop and stay in Ireland. A local guide to local places.

All is good in John R's and Café Hanna. Literally. That cup of coffee with a freshly baked scone that starts your day will be good. The shelves are lined with foods that are all good. The baking by Pierce Walsh's dedicated team of ladies is all good - lovely quiches, lovely salads, their signature pies, the cakes and bakes. The wines are all good, and the food to bring home for your dinner will be good also.

Mr Walsh cares deeply about what he produces and sells, and his team have years of experience of doing the good thing. That care and that experience shine through in delicious, comforting, enjoyable food. Whatever reason brings you to lovely Listowel, then you need to know that John R's is a Must Visit, a key destination for breakfast, lunch and, should you maybe rent some of the terrific accommodation Mr Walsh also offers, then they can even take care of providing your dinner for you. It's a One-Stop shop, where everything is good. Travellers should also note that if you cross the River Shannon on the ferry from Killimer to Tarbert, then that good cup of coffee and that excellent lunch in John R's is only minutes away, and you can park the car right outside the shop. That will do nicely...
