Kelly's Hotel Dublin
How do you make a little seem like a lot? How do you crete the tardis effect? In Kelly’s Hotel, on Dublin’s South Great George’s Street, the small is made big in this smart hotel. You are a budget traveller, yet here you are swaddled up in tycoon territory. Lol! You only need one thing, of course, to achieve this effect in an hotel. And that one thing is: imagination. Lots of it. And if you have a little spatial awareness, so much the better. And a sense of humour, a sense of irony and history, will allow you to bring it all home, gas in the tank. Kelly’s Hotel does all this, and does it quite brilliantly. They have made all the smart choices, so the rooms are tiny, but they feel special, they feel bumper. It’s a pretty brilliant concept, what they have achieved here with modest means and oversized imaginations, and we are happy to report that the staff are as cool as the concept – polite, welcoming, nice. Breakfast is served in the excellent L’Gueuleton restaurant, next door, and in addition to their own Candle Bar, there are 2 cult Dublin pubs – Hogan’s and The Secret Bar – just down the stairs.
